Pre-treat over-nights; Before applying any water on your hands, take some product. Use Longhairs® #10-B Protein Conditioner alone (#10-B is the most used, recommended and preferred re-treat and pre-treat) (Very very seldom one may occasionally use #19 Honey-Bee and a drop of #13 Blisstips Ends Oil over it.) Technique: After working in conditioner along needy strands from the bottom up, using the 'universal sign of money' dash hands quickly with some warm water on your palms of your hands... alternate layers of water, then conditioner until you achieve smooth uniform feel in the hair. ie where hair is older or more damaged, use more and follow with water on hands to deeply express it)... work up thru those old wear areas in the midrange top back of hair.. in a stroking-massaging motion downward ... blend and massage in with more water till soft and pliable. Work the ends in this way until it is a wet wick end, alternating layers of water and conditioner before proceeding to braid if you braid them.(or #13-A Blisstips Ends Oil alone as the occasional overnight hot oil treatment..then put a bag and a Toque then go on to sleep.), Pre-treating is most often with a #10-B, is done nightly before tying to side or onto flat low pigtails and retiring. You can do it on the side braid technique too day OR night) when done at night it is then is called pre-treating (use 1 tsp or way less.). #13-A may also be implemented along with the 10's if you like. Pre-treating works while you sleep;-) Hints: Don't wet the hair first...instead, wet your hands with the conditioner on them. The more layers you do of conditioner then water, the better it all penetrates...finish with water from your hands.
