Of course, yes. And for the 'complicated stuff' it just depends on how involved your needs are. Doctorlonghair can deal with hair needs refreshingly easily on all levels, and at the same time is very capable of some pretty high-end long-lasting results.
At any speed, even basic care, is going to thrill you, and you'll be glad you asked. 'How much' isn't the issue like in typical salons, you'll be relieved that you came in for a trim
. It's natural after great results, to want to take with you some of our 'basic' shampoo and conditioner(and Flexipick). You can stay at that basic-needs level if you choose, no problem at all.
You'll still find Longhairs brand of perfection distinctively present even for your simple needs:-)
Oh and complicated? Somebody has to do it, and there's nobody better than LML to do it ....and it's not really that complicated, it just so happens Magicpacking or 'kitting' may or my not not be for you:-)
Perhaps this may work with chemical products
and product that need such help. We don't. By following our diresctions for our products
with our products
... you will get very smooth hair that without a forced hand is staying smooth.
This might also work where the products
(even some natural) chemicals regardless of temperature spread what good oils(processed or emulsified) might happen to be in their stuff. I guess it also depends on the nature theory (if there is even one) and strength of what they might be using. It (luke warm water
and rinsed
with cold) certainly isn't a 'long hair do or die rule' of any sort and we don't keep this in mind prior to making any product for long hair just to make it in the way certain people want to use one out there. There is no general rule that we look for to follow when we manufacture except success.
I do know you cannot move butter or good oils around properly like you think you are doing with lukewarm or cool water
unless where is a high detergent value to do the job. The oils in our products
and the nature of it are not such chemical, but designed to melt in at higher than body temperature (many reasons for this) without the use of the chemicals or pre-processings that an average consumer may not understand. Our products
sufficiently 'open to accept' when they are supposed to, 'penetrate and close' on their own when they are supposed to, it's programmed in...unlike 'outside' products
that coat or are 'simple-natured in design. Have you ever heard of anyone doing a 'cold oil treatment'?
The temperature controls that you are choosing because of a tip here an there that are not speaking of Longhairs products
at all, are only tips for common products
that produce these needs that they arose from. Doing this with the temperature with our products
is definitely going to meddle with the way our products
were designed to work, which they do completely on their own ...unique in the way and depth that they penetrate. In other words what you need to do for other products
out there our products
do 'for you' and 'with and on it's own accord if you provide the environment it needs to naturally do so and not interfere in such a way.
The need to apply outside information on our perfectly well instructed product is indeed overkill. There is no need here for outside tips that are contrary to manufacturers directions. There is no need to make a product that feeds into these theories as we are beyond making a generic product work as that is backwards thinking.
Doing 'other directions' is like not following direction on a cake mix, because you deemed them not normal and then complain because it came out less than right.. ..after you changed the clear instructions. Besides the fact that scalp's, natural oil production system has properties that need to be activated, circulation ceated or allowed so your body can properly cleanse (plugged up scalps solidified oil in there that goes rancid, is often why some people's long hair up close smells like an old boot and their hairlines face and backs are pimply.)
Any good oil including your scalp's own oil(if it is clean and not rancid)needs to flow and not be solidified into waxy plugs.(honest...we have no conspiracy with your hot water
provider) Just with most of our stuff works best with our instructions because the instructions are made for the product, not because we never checked around or forgot to ask what hoops people need to go through to make some things do their job.
Our clients hair is long, healthy growing .... problem and odor-free....and our client love to learn. Why mess with success!
One of the reasons Louise Marie Longhairs created and goes to all the efforts to share them..is to do just.... that make you happy, and if you are we are happy too! When you're that different, you have to!
Our instructions were designed to produce the very best results (if you came to the studio she would show you just how wonderful these instructions do work) but until then enjoy what you are doing if it makes your hair happy long hair...it's better than anything else out there for you, happy, if not then lets work on you understanding the instructions better because results are entirely reliant on method of use.
You alone are responsible for the results you get.. We just provide the tools. If you just want to not follow for the sake of not being willing to open your mind, that would be a whole other story.
If you love it well you must be doing something right and here is credit for it :-) If you don't ...you know what you need to do.:-)
Q:I have been using natural products
in my hair for years since I started growing my hair, what's the difference? Everything natural is all the same purpose to clean the hairs...isn't natural natural and doesn't natural generic include long hair?
A: If generic is your bag it's your bag.If you believe 'natural is a description that tell you anything, Eg: natural beef, natural bread, made with natural flour, natural rosemary (is there non-natural rosemary?)
You get the picture. You're mistaking a natural product for general use, as for what's making the general rule. You might be confusing that type of product with products
made for long hair especially, that IS naturally pathed for very specific results. Our product and directions are specifically designed to deal with and prevent long hair issues. Don't confuse 'natural' (sales pitch word) with 'good for your needs'. As a standard 'natural' is what we feel is the way everything should just 'be'. Without considering 'natural' as a bonus. Ask yourself does everything natural in the world belong in one classification.... and belong on your hair, good for long hair? 'Natural' is not the only credential necessary to make it 'for' long hair..Our NO list
EVERYBODY at all lengths should be using 'natural' stuff and there shouldn't 'be' anything else and then for long hair there is us where we are natural of course... but we specialize at Longhairs. Special product special purpose, special instructions.
I don't feel it is... here is why.
I am concerned about your being exposed to EMF's or elecro magnetic fields around electricals at night especially around the head, eg cellphones or any electricity, while it is plugged in, turned on or switched off...it's bad for your cells....and your sleep pattern.
lets try to substitute something else, same effect...
The All Canadian Touque solution, plastic grocery bag (decal facing out) then slip a nice thick touque over it...tooooasty!!
This is a little louder till it settles in, but a use a shiny-side-in mylar heat reflector blanket from emergency vehicle kits wrapped over a plastic bag, preferably a clear bag, then a terry or cloth surgery cap, like a j-cloth material, over it all. It will heat up WAY hotter but WAY safer that a heat cap for overnight.
A heat cap can be used safely by heating it up on your head then unplugging it for the duration of the time.
Good question, (pretreating...that's the overnight one on dry hair where you wash
as usual in the morning) you should be PRETREATING the bottom by working in (massaging upwards also smoothing in a downward motion layering with water
as specified in other postings.
Focus on needy areas and ends first, go up as far as you need to, no need to pretreat scalp.
Try to focus on learning by feel where extra is needed. this takes practise not to get pretreat too often on the areas such as by the scalp that don't need the extra treating. Re-treating(after shower on wet
hair) is the same policy :-)
I try to strive for teaching the client to learn to recognize 'satisfaction' by using what it takes because that is more correct. Everyone's hair is different and has different times and phases where t needs to be respected and listened to. Catered to.
Seriously..if you must measure your conditioners, I'd say a good tablespoon or more of #10-A or #10-B's and less of #17 Lilith but almost as much as none may need to use #19 as I would the #9. I use 3 times as much of the # 9 than I do when I use our other Conditioners. Till it feels optimum texture smooth silky all over including scalp...and satisfied. (that last line sounds like good vodka commercial;-)
then unless it's #19, Fexipick it thru before rinsing
.
Good question... the answer is YES, I call that a re-juicing.
After the in-shower combthru, the hair is still open and will gratefully eat up an extra smoothing you crave. A smooth and generous conditioning session
will always provide hungry hairs good closure, and no frizzies-looking juicy shine. leaving it on for a moment before combing and then after the re-juicing allows perfect arrangement of molecules:-)
It is better to re-juice before rinsing
all conditioner out, it's better than trying to condition twice. That doesn't work.
Always Smoothcomb FIRST then re-treat
never the other way around. You only need the RT to go where it was put not smearing it all over where it wasn't needed.
Sure, I've heard it used for a rather different feeling, not as shiny and soft, I'd rather the 10-Bs myself.
I can see it being used to slick hair back to dry hard instead of gel or hairspray for anyone, not just curly, tried it on clients myself...hey with this one, if it feels good, do it but watch for symptoms! There are beneficial effects from doing this one, if you like it use it with disgression.
A great sunscreen for the hair in sun n surf, or in pools under the swimcap.
Tip, do it on very wet
hair, scrunch it in, starting at the bottom... don't comb or pick again afterwards. Scrunching is done saturating #19 into ends and then massaging up the shaft to blend it to match the healthy hairs but day-old feeling.
#19 Honey-Bee ISN'T supposed to be combed thru, and that's why you can't.
If I put any detangler in it, it could not go in to the structure as deep, (the proteins penetrate totally on their own) and you couldn't use it as a skin conditioner... this reminder goes on the boards if it isn't there yet....and so the # 9 Trees does the closing and detangling for the #19 Honey-Bee and also provides the oils:-)
Because the nature of our products
are so different than other lines that ours need to be used together for the best results. Our shampoos and conditioners were carefully and specifically made for eachother, and interact together like a marriage or match made in heaven...therefore they are sold together.
Are you decidedly categorically DRY? ...
Dry hair, as far as the hair products
marketing racket goes, is a selling category, not a permanent condition, (pardon the pun).
The market products
sell you a product that keeps you IN that category, so they can continue to market to your type.
Dry hair as per say CAN and is fixed all the time in our line, as we
bring hair to normal, not treat your condition to keep it that way.
The dry hair oxymoron is like 'hungry people' once they are fed, ARE they still hungry people???? No.
With our stuff... you get progression to normal... it takes as many
different paths to get there as there are reasons for dry hair ending up
titled as such. According to the market, almost everyone's hair is categorized as dry, and with their products
it stays that way.
Our clients who use our products
properly don't get 'dry feeling' hair.
Our clients and users don't have 'dry hair' because the supposed condition is corrected. We move forward from there.See more below if you don't understand this reasoning.

before you read on... we are 30 years past being some sort of 'theory'.
We only have 2 choices... to 'market' to you or to tell you the truth.
Frankly our clients are very tired of marketing.
Face it watch the news... people are in love with
sensationalism... click-words sell products
, but they won't fix your
problem. What IS the problem? I ask you...can you be more specific? But
can you??
is it 'dry' or ...does it feel terrible, incomfortable and that's the story you know. Market teaches you that terrible feeling hair is you not them. That's your hair type.
Have you ever used a 'dry hair' shampoo or conditioner and had it cure it??? I suspect no.
Have you ever taken a pill for general illness and gotten better... probably not.
Is it washing
making the hair "dry"? Depends what you use AND how you
use it, both. OK, I hear you... then try not washing
it, it gets more
dry. Myth one... blown out of the water
, if it's out of water
...does
that make it "dry?" Do people who swim in clean fresh water
every day
get dry hair? No. Why is it that 99% of people out there have 'dry
hair'. Dry thinking, doesn't accomplish a single thing.
So say the said dryness is not an issue, it's a general
sell-word, people like it alot, but it's not a constructive description
of what may be happening to your hair.. what else woud you say? Try
explaining it, think out of the box.. 'what' makes you think it is dry.
Try this...do you have symptoms? Hit our search tool, type it
in ... we can fix those things but not illness, dryness, sleeplessness,
cluelessness, fatness, skinnyness, hungriness, 'that' one you know is
malnutrition....is malnutrition not eating right? not eating often
enough, or simply hungriness? You need an OHenry.
Click-words are not fixable without detail. Is it 'dry' in the
shower? So was it 'dry' when you were a child, dry as an adolecent when
you had pimples...? is your skin dry is your hair dry is your scalp
dry, is it dry with oil on it is it dry after weeks of no washing
? is
it dry .... oh come now, if you have any problem...here...can you use
more descriptive terms, type in symptoms please..... it's not grease or
oil it needs, oily hair attracts dirt and grit and grit wears out your
hair and gives split ends. ...you know that doesn't fix it. Longhairs
does, but he have to fix you first. Turn off the tv.
Second, realize the bachelor's rule, dirty socks wear out faster than clean ones."
We have done surveys and 99% of the population thinks they are
drying up... who do they blame? Try it Ask em. Is it the products
methods or myths, and did it help. no. I'm sure. Are they eating no
fats, don't think so.. Are they using shampoo that is not Longhairs,
yes.
Targetting one myth, you supposed... would washing
your hair daily
'make it dry? Does washing
your face or brushing your teeth make it
dry? It's what you get and what you do with it. Does watering plants
daily
make them dry...
Do friends lead you into troubles and cause you to get no sleep? Only some do.
Does s3x make you pregnant? Does more s3x make you more
pregnant? Does a little s3x make you less pregnant? No... get smart.
Use birth control. If you like something, you'll do it more often...
you'll make the time... now lets get back to shampoo. Is oily hair less
dry?.....
Does eating 6 meals a day make you fat, simply that? Ask a
hypoglycemic, or a regular person on the same eating system. One meal a
day of cake will make you fatter, Washing
with crap will make your hair
drier, so the challenge...how come we test each batch, we have a
line-up waiting for us to wash
their hair 75 times with Longhairs, and
condition it a mere once, and it feels heavenly. That could prove my
point, it would feel softer than ever. If it is not drying it out
continue doing it if it good, keep it up. Some people want to complain.
Oh I'm sooo fat. And they are not, you see them eat salad, yes you see
them eat salad...
I've almost made my point, but will you believe me... no. If you
believe what you hear, let your hair get greasy all the time and see
how sad you'll feel, it could start to smell too. It's not necessary to
think long hair is supposed to be oily to the tips. Our hair get as
oily as it should on Longhairs line...and you smell fresh and you
shine!!
IF Something is made a certain way like our long hair stuff,
we wouldn't be making it for this long if it was drying the out of
ones hair. We wouldn'nt advise you use our products
a
certain way if the results weren't true. If you want dry
hair, use that ol' dry hair shampoo. If you want to keep dry hair don't
listen, if you want dry hair, don't listen. Use our stuff as directed.
Don't change the directions of a good thing... because you 'thought'
the instructions didn't pertain to you, or pertain to people in Arizona
or Denver... or Alaska or are yellow, black, white or blue. Don't
misuse our wonderful stuff for to feed the will to fail, we did not
omit testing on 'your' individual 'types, 30 years later... all the
client here don't look exactly like Ms LML, so don't mess with success.
Learn how to learn.
Technique is one thing, it matters in s3x too, the facts is
another. Here if you don't use it right, it's like s3x, it may not feel
as right as it could...it's not the equipment..and it's not the
product, oh come and I'll prove to you it's not the shampoo/or/not
idea... it's , but don't bet your money on staying dry-haired around
here, you could lose the bet. This does not apply to other products
...
other products
will ruin your hair if used as often as once a week, we
are sooooo different!! That doesn't apply to our stuff...
Long hair is not dry hair, dry hair shampoo doesnt fix 'dry'
hair, people do, Longhairs does all the time, every time. And...diet
foods are not for those who are slim ... think about it, hungry people
are not hungry when you feed them well and often, and hair...don't deny
yourself all the pampering of 20 minutes a day...no dry-ness as you may
say, and to the hungry hair, no oil oil oil and more oil masking
malnutrition. Magicpack
feeds you well.
95% of 'dry' hair that comes in is incorrectly labelled and treated before coming to Longhairs. Come and get your situation corrected regardless what it is called.
Enough. If you use not enough shampoo in each dose, or don't wash
often as daily
with those 4-5 little shampoo applications... you'll find that need more conditioner. Be sure to always scrub conditioners into the scalp before detangling. Provided you've used the shampoo as directed... the approximate #10-B conditioner for very long, 2 tablespoons, (#9-Trees version use 3 tbsp) as directed and it should melt in right away, 'if' you shampooed right according to our direction.
